Although Ragwort spreads by seed, it invades vegitatively.

This Ragwort ‘seedling’ had sprouted from a piece of old root.

In pasture clearance exercises, over 90% of ‘seedling’ plants removed had in fact germinated from roots left from old plants or dug plants.

When using herbicide treatments ensure that you use a systemic product otherwise this type of regrowth is extremely likely.
